This you will be responsible for doing before our next class. I will provide you with the map and passport stamps to complete the next time our class meets.
In class we tackled a difficult secondary source reading (attached). Please read and answer questions. If you have trouble, please let me know by stopping in or emailing me a question. Not doing it because you're confused is not an option. For homework (due Wednesday/Thursday) please finish reading Chapter 9 (previous post).
Read and source The Arthashastra and Pillar Edicts using the HAPP-Y sourcing guide (first document).
After grading your quizzes, I am concerned about whether it is the level of difficulty or your level of preparedness that is giving us these results. Please complete the survey for your class.
This survey is anonymous and can only be submitted once. If everyone in your class submits it on time, you will each be awarded extra credit on this last quiz grade. Additionally, anyone who would like to do quiz corrections may do so during advisory on Friday. Please read Chapter 9: State, Society, and the Quest for Salvation in India (B-block reads up to "Religions of Salvation in Classical India" for Friday) (A-block reads entire chapter for Monday)
* Quiz will be Monday (B) and Tuesday (A).
In an effort to boost test/quiz grades, you will have a quiz on the first 2 Classical Empires (instead of all 4 at once). Click "read more" to see terms to know.
Once you've read "Wang and the Perfect Gift" For this part of the activity, you will first read a summary of what life was like for one of a variety of workers during Han rule. The worker you are assigned will be randomly generated using the widget below. After you know your number, click on its corresponding button. When you do that, you will be taken to information about your assigned worker.
