Over the next class and a half, we will be watching "Before the Flood" (I understand some of you may have seen it in your Spanish class, but we will be looking at it from a different angle). We will then have your final assignment of the year, a proposal for the Paris Climate Summit. Attached are the video questions and the summit assignment. BOTH must be handed in to receive full credit. Due May 28th by start of class.

Remember to bring in your permission slip with the $5! The trip is May 14th, but I need all slips and money by May 10th at the latest. Instead of a unit and a test on the Cold War, we are going to do a project. It is made up of 5 parts, but almost each has a choice of topics so please read the directions carefully and ASK me if you have any questions! Due May 7 (B) / May 8 (A)

What you are about to watch for homework and discuss next class will confront the atrocities committed by Japanese troops in the city of Nanjing. While you will engage with the subject matter intellectually, studying some of its historical, social, and political causes, it is also important to acknowledge emotional responses to this history. Some of this is hard to watch and hear. If you have any concerns, please let me know. If you were not in class, please take notes on Political Ideologies (guided notes attached). Homework: Read and answer questions on The Beginning of the Nazi Party and The First Nazi Uprising.
